A prominent online gaming entity, Betsson, has broadened its reach within the Netherlands’ gaming sector. This expansion follows the purchase of a domestic gaming enterprise and its associated game development branch for €27.5 million (roughly $29.6 million). The transaction, completely backed by Betsson’s current assets, underscores the company’s dedication to solidifying its position within the regulated Dutch market.
The acquired firm possesses a sought-after Dutch casino gaming permit and manages well-known platforms that provide a diverse selection of games. Its subsidiary, a Dutch game development entity, specializes in crafting casino games specifically designed for the Dutch market.
This calculated acquisition aligns seamlessly with Betsson’s extended growth plan, which centers on venturing into new regions and expanding its market presence within regulated markets to boost income and profitability.
Nevertheless, the agreement awaits regulatory consent from the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) to guarantee adherence to all local gaming regulations.
This action comes after Betsson’s remarkable financial achievements in 2023, marked by robust revenue expansion and substantial increases in EBITDA and EBIT, as disclosed in their year-end financial statement.
Prior to this upgrade, Betsson secured numerous agreements, including a lucrative three-year partnership with Atlético Nacional, a prominent Colombian soccer organization.
