Camelot Celebrates Record Retailer Satisfaction Amidst Lottery License Dispute

The departing UK National Lottery operator, Camelot, is touting unprecedented levels of retailer contentment. A recent poll apparently revealed an overall satisfaction rating of 75%, a decade-long peak. A staggering 95% of retailers indicated they were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the standard of service provided.

Although this may appear to be a final attempt to salvage their reputation, Camelot attributes these favorable outcomes to a 2017 strategic assessment. This evaluation resulted in a twofold increase in their retail sales team and a £20 million (US$25.3 million) injection into customer engagement.

Camelot’s Retail Director, Jenny Blogg, highlighted the pivotal function of their 44,000 retail collaborators, referring to them as “the embodiment of The National Lottery for players throughout the UK.” She conveyed her pleasure at the positive influence of their endeavors, particularly given the prevailing difficulties encountered by retailers.

Conspicuously missing from Camelot’s proclamation is any reference to their loss of the National Lottery permit to Allwyn Entertainment, an enterprise owned by Czech tycoon Karel Komárek. This omission speaks volumes, especially considering Camelot is presently contesting the verdict, potentially culminating in a High Court legal battle.

Our shop collaborators are completely vital to the National Lottery’s triumph, particularly during these challenging periods. We are deeply appreciative of their effort and commitment, and we are devoted to ensuring their satisfaction. We have even relaunched our specialized retailer center, offering resources and development programs, and have distributed over £2.8 million in retailer incentives since 2018!”

“Regarding the National Lottery license’s future, the High Court has not yet established a date for Camelot’s legal challenge. Although Allwyn is slated to assume control in 2024, this schedule could be delayed contingent upon the appeal’s result.”
