Anton Janér has been designated as the new Chief Executive of Abios, an esports information and tech firm. He takes over for Oskar Fröberg, who established Abios alongside Janér in 2013, as Fröberg departs to explore different avenues.
Janér’s extensive comprehension of the organization, coupled with his ten years of expertise within the sector, makes him well-suited to assume this fresh leadership position. He moves from his prior role as Chief Technology Officer, a position he held since the company’s founding.
Fröberg conveyed assurance in Janér’s capability to head Abios, remarking that he “couldn’t envision a more suitable replacement” and trusts the company has a promising future with Janér at the helm.
Abios was purchased by Kambi, a sports wagering technology supplier, in 2021 for $24 million. This acquisition has already produced favorable outcomes, with Kambi recently incorporating Abios’ esports soccer odds product into its system. They intend to broaden this integration to encompass esports basketball, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends. Presently, Kambi and Abios cover roughly 6,000 esports soccer matches monthly.
Janér voiced his eagerness for this new phase, stating that he is “privileged to take on the role of General Manager and steer Abios into the subsequent chapter.”
