A prominent gaming and entertainment corporation, Boyd Gaming, disseminated festive joy by contributing more than $180,000 to charitable organizations through its yearly “Trees and Wreaths of Hope” seasonal contest.
More than 160 non-profit groups across the nation, each advocating for diverse causes, engaged in Boyd Gaming’s recent Christmas philanthropic endeavor. They displayed exquisitely adorned wreaths and holiday trees at 22 of Boyd Gaming’s locations.
Patrons could cast their vote for their preferred charities either digitally or by frequenting participating venues. The initiative elicited a substantial response, accumulating over 100,000 votes cast throughout the country.
Participating sites encompassed the Delta Downs Racetrack, Casino & Hotel in Louisiana, Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, and Main Street Station in the heart of Las Vegas, among others.
Boyd Gaming publicized the 2021 competition as “an enjoyable, amicable, and socially distanced holiday wreath embellishment contest where all participants receive a contribution, and the top three victors at each location, as chosen by guest ballot, receive more substantial contributions.”
Currently in its 14th year, the “Trees and Wreaths of Hope” campaign shattered several records in 2021, encompassing the overall prize fund, the quantity of participating venues, the number of non-profit groups, and the volume of votes.
In contrast to its record-setting 2020 campaign, Boyd Gaming augmented the prize fund by $35,000, incorporated four additional participating venues, and included 25 extra non-profit organizations.
Boyd Gaming, a cornerstone of philanthropic endeavors, has contributed over $100 million to charitable organizations nationwide since the inception of its program in 2007. This major player in the casino entertainment industry, with headquarters in Las Vegas, oversees 28 properties spanning 10 states. While the physical casino sector faced challenges during the pandemic, recent periods have indicated a positive trend toward recuperation. Notably, in the third quarter of 2021, the corporation experienced a significant 29% surge in revenue.
