The Edinburgh club declared that the three-year agreement is worth a substantial sum, and the company’s emblem will be displayed solely on the men’s primary team shorts.
Marsbet is already a collaborator with EC Juventude in Brazil, FK Austria Vienna in Austria and FC Zarya Luhansk in Ukraine.
Marsbet was established in 2013 and is authorized and managed by Alpha Entertainment in Curacao.
A Hibernian representative stated: “The club remains dedicated to aiding supporters in their accountable engagement in gambling, just as we support responsible alcohol consumption, and the Hibernian Community Foundation will continue to conduct alcohol and gambling awareness initiatives.”
A Marsbet representative said: “As a wagering firm, Marsbet acknowledges its duty to its clients, partners, potential clients and staff, and is committed to providing the finest experience. We are thrilled to partner with Hibernian Football Club, one of the top teams in Scotland.”
In June, Edinburgh City, a fourth-tier Scottish team, announced its backing for a movement to prohibit betting advertising in Scottish football matches.
The Edinburgh City leader, Jim Brown, after backing the “Stride” initiative, which was launched by the “Gambling with Life” group, stated: “We’ve made the decision to adopt a more morally sound approach to all our collaborations.
“The global health crisis has demonstrated that football can be a strong force for positive change, so it’s logical for us to push messages that promote physical and mental well-being.”
