888 Poker, the online poker branch of 888 Holdings, gave back a record amount to players in 2022 under its fair play policy.
888 Poker gave back a record $287,292 to players due to its review of game honesty.
888 Poker stated that it gave back a total of $287,292 (£239,300/€269,998) from accounts that broke its fair play policy.
The funds were given back to 6,801 players, averaging $42 per customer, a 32% increase over the number of detections reported in 2021.
888 Poker stated that bots and real-time advisors (RTAs) – using software programming to create an unfair advantage over genuine players – remain a common issue in online poker and have increased investment in their own detection abilities to address these issues.
The operator also stated that it had found players working together to gain an unfair advantage.
“At 888 Poker, we take game honesty very seriously,” said Matan Krakow, Head of Poker Products at 888 Poker. “This year, thanks to our continued investment in technology, player collaboration, and team hard work, we have increased the detection rate of bot accounts, RTAs, and collusion, giving back nearly $290,000 to players.
