The Japanese Racing Association (JRA) has declared that its J-Place Kasamatsu, Ena, and Tosu off-track wagering (OTB) venues will resume operations on September 19th.

All JRA OTB locations were compelled to temporarily shut down in February due to the emergence of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but the organization progressively restarted operations beginning in July.

The J-Place OTB locations in Kasamatsu, Ena, and Tosu will function with restricted services, including not supplying customers with live race footage or probability data.

Cashier betting windows will remain closed, stores will not offer complimentary beverages, and media halls, seating areas, and smoking areas will be inaccessible.

High-touch surfaces within the stores will be cleaned and disinfected regularly, and transparent barriers and vinyl curtains will be installed at specific points to assist in preventing airborne transmission.

JRA personnel will have their temperatures measured, document their physical condition, and sanitize their hands before commencing work, and will wear masks, gloves, and face shields while working.

Shoppers will have their temperature evaluated upon arrival, and any individual exhibiting signs of COVID-19 will be prohibited from entering the establishment. JRA also declared it will continue to restrict the quantity of individuals permitted within the store concurrently.

To guarantee safety, guests must wear face coverings, maintain a separation from others, and sanitize their hands prior to entering the building.

Furthermore, JRA will deny entry to any individual who has been in close proximity to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, or who has traveled to regions or nations restricted by the government.

JRA revealed last week the resumption of operations at its Park Wins, Wins, and J-Place OTB locations, the most recent in a sequence of reopenings.

However, despite the partial reopening of its OTB network, JRA disclosed last month that horse racing in the nation would continue to be conducted without spectators, at least until October 4.
