The United Lottery Integrity System (ULIS), previously known as the Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), has expanded its network to include the Lithuanian Gambling Control Authority (LGCA).
ULIS extends a warm welcome to the Lithuanian regulatory body as its newest member.
The LGCA has been actively collaborating with ULIS since May 2018 and will now formally join the organization, solidifying their partnership.
This membership will facilitate the exchange of information regarding suspicious sports and betting patterns within the broader ULIS partner network.
“Both entities share a common vision, principles, and dedication to combating the issue of match-fixing,” stated LGCA Director Virginijus Dauksys.
“The data and insights we obtain from ULIS assist us in thoroughly examining various sporting events occurring within our nation, which can be instrumental in our national-level investigations.”
ULIS unveiled a rebranding initiative last October following unanimous member approval of the name change at a general assembly. The findings of a survey indicated that members no longer perceived GLMS as an accurate reflection of the organization, as it primarily alluded to monitoring services.
This rebranding signifies a change in approach, focusing more on services that go beyond simply observing.
