The Jockey Club has brought on Helen Sherlock as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective May 17th.

Sherlock arrives at the organization from the retail chain Marks & Spencer, where she served as Head of Human Resources since 2018. She also held the position of Head of HR for BT’s Consumer division, and prior to that, she occupied roles at ESPN and ITN.

“I’m enthusiastic about joining The Jockey Club during this exciting period,” stated Sherlock. “The organization’s long history, the passion of its personnel, and the vision of Niven and the leadership team provide us with a fantastic opportunity.”

The Jockey Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Niven Trussedale, indicated that Sherlock will be vital in identifying and training new talent.

“I’m delighted to welcome Helen to our team,” expressed Trussedale. “She will be instrumental in propelling our talent objectives in the years ahead as we continue to innovate, attract and retain talent, and support the well-being and development of all colleagues at The Jockey Club.”

Sherlock’s appointment follows the declaration last month of three new senior business hires at The Jockey Club.

Charles Boss will be joining the firm in May as the Chief Commercial Officer, Alexandra Goldschmidt will be the Director of Partnerships, and Hannah Grosvenor will be the National Sales Director.
